Dairy Cattle Yeast Additive

Yeast infections are no fun! If youíve ever had a yeast infection you know just how miserable they can be with the horrible itching, burning, rashes and embarrassment.

Itís no wonder then that you may be eager to find a fast home remedy to treat your yeast infection. There are many websites out there that provide information on home remedies for yeast infections. Some of these remedies are safe, some may have minor side effects, and some are just downright dangerous.

Many people are under the assumption that because a remedy is available for home use it is safe, however that is not always the case. Before jumping in and using a home remedy for your yeast infection you should be sure to do your homework and be sure that it is not only safe, but that it wonít make your yeast infection worse than it already is.

Here are a few of the home remedies I have seen suggested that may or may not be safe to use:

Gentian Violet

Gentian violet is an old remedy for yeast infections that has been around for a long time. Today, gentian violet is mostly used to treat infection in cattle. The thing that you rarely read anywhere about gentian violet is that it has been shown to cause damage to the liver, so it should be used with caution.

Boric Acid

Boric acid is some nasty stuff! It is commonly used to kill cockroaches if that gives you any idea how toxic it is. If you read the side of a bottle of boric acid you will see that not only is it listed as a poison, but it can be fatal if used incorrectly.

Over the Counter Yeast Infection Creams

Over the counter yeast infection creams like Monistat are safe to use, however, they may actually make your yeast infection worse. These creams are designed to kill off all of the yeast that is present. However, some yeast is more resistant, and the cream often only kills the weaker yeast and leaves the more resistant yeast behind.

Because youíve killed the weaker yeast, the more resistant yeast now has lots of room to grow and multiply. Then, when you get another yeast infection, you have even more of the resistant strain of yeast, which makes the over the counter cream even less effective than it was the first time.

This cycle repeats over and over, and before you know it youíve got chronic, recurring yeast infections that canít be treated with over the counter creams.

The best way to treat a yeast infection is using a safe, holistic remedy that treats the underlying cause of the infection instead of just treating the symptoms. Eliminating the cause of yeast infections is the only way to permanently cure yourself of yeast and get on with your life again.
